AQML’s mission
The AQML’s mission is to inform and educate the public, professionals, and authorities about Lyme disease and its co-infections, whether they manifest with or without persistent symptoms. The organization works to ensure access to prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and support services throughout the journey of those affected.
The AQML also offers direct assistance to those affected, providing them with information, a listening ear, guidance, and psychosocial support aimed at breaking their isolation and improving their quality of life.
Our commitments:
- Inform and raise awareness about Lyme disease and its co-infections, including forms with or without persistent symptoms.
- Offer concrete support to those affected and their loved ones in order to break isolation and promote better care pathways.
- Actively collaborate with medical, scientific, and government authorities to improve access to appropriate services at every stage of the disease.
- Ensure the sustainability of the association in order to continue our public interest mission over the long term.
Our business sectors
To achieve its objectives, the Association is diversifying its activities by providing:
The AQML responds to the needs of those who contact it by providing reliable, up-to-date information on Lyme disease and its co-infections. It also directs them to the appropriate medical and community resources to support them in their diagnosis and treatment process. In addition, the association constantly monitors the needs of the community, develops tools to break isolation, and implements psychosocial intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life and overall well-being of those affected.
The AQML actively collaborates with medical, scientific, and governmental authorities to promote a better understanding of Lyme disease and its co-infections. It participates in discussions with public health authorities, healthcare institutions, researchers, and decision-makers with the aim of improving clinical practices, facilitating access to services, and advancing policies related to this disease.
The AQML relays the voices of patients, who express the need to be recognized, listened to, and supported beyond medical debates. It communicates their concerns and recommendations to decision-making bodies.
The association also acts as a patient partner, taking part in work, consultations, and initiatives related to Lyme disease. This involvement aims to highlight the realities of life with the disease and ensure that decisions take into account the concrete needs of those affected.
